Memorial Day Float Fest

Annual Memorial Day float trip is on again this year at Hudson and Jeni's hacienda in Schuyler-fornia (Nelson Co.). Come paddle your way into summer down the James & Hardware Rivers!

Details:
  • Sat., May 24th - Come cook out with us on Walton's Mtn. around 4pm, stay the night (2 queen beds and couch in the house, ample camping in the yard). Food will be provided, but feel free to bring a side/dessert and BYOB. Address will go out in an email.

  • Sun. May 25th - breakfast at the house, head over to Howardsville for new put-in. We've added a short leg onto last year's trip that has some pretty views and some wee rapids to add to the adventure. We'll float and flop around in the river, have some mid-way margaritas (right Carolyn? :), and onward to the famed Point de Turd for island camping, cook-out, etc. People can camp overnight here, or float on down to take out (3o min.).

  • Mon. May 26th - There's nothing like a tequila sunrise with Jay and MB, that's all I gotta say. Take our time getting to the take out. Grab a bite in Scottsville for lunch at Valley St.

Hope to see y'all there!

Sounds awesome! I'm really going to need this break, and the margaritas and tequila sunrise! I can't wait... Very cool pic by the way! I'll send a list of what I'll bring soon. Need me to bring my coffee pot? LOL

AAAh! Yes Turd Point! Those were the days. A small island with big dreams and many memories. A place in time where the "crack of dawn" is literally dripping with sunblock and young maidens are anxiously waiting to savor every last drop!(with Tequila) I can't wait I will be there with Bob Marley on. I'm glad you are adding that extra leg to the paddle this year it is a fun paddle and quite pretty. Thanks for hosting us again!

The "salad days" - wish we could be there. Nate, are you sure those long skinny things were mushrooms and not Kiligan droppings. Sometimes it's hard to tell in the woods - they weren't steaming were they? wish I could visit Lex Vegas and laugh with Rick and Ester again. Miss you amigo.
