THE STORM IS OVER; TIME TO PARTY!

Derek's 21st birthday party was a smashing success, complete with delicious burger buffet, Mary Beth's tasty cole slaw, guitar cake, and a champagne toast to Derek! Bill was a super help in setting up the party, cooking up the burgers and spinning some tunes. Thank you so much for that! Derek was sporting a new haircut and some new shades, looking like the fine rock star that he is. It was a beautiful day and everyone had a great time!

Happy Birthday Derek! Sorry I missed the blast! I thought I was gonna be smart and escape the power outages and rain by heading too the mountains! Evidently I should have just stuck it out? Looks like you all had fun! Now all you have to look forward to is age 65--Social security--if it still exists by then? :)

Yeah, I made that cake. Actually, I'm famous in our group for my cakes. I'll have to show you sometime my photo album of all my cakes I've made through the years. Most have been for my kids, but also for other people's kids. I made Carolyn's 50th birthday cake and Jay's 40th and 50th birthday cakes. Jay's 40th cake was in the shape of a beer bottle. For Frank and Ginny's baby shower, I made a cake in the shape of a baby in a basket, which turned out really cute. It's a lot of fun to me to make shapes out of cake. Lots of people have told me to go into the business, but then it wouldn't be fun any more. LOL

Kathy,
We had the BEST time. It was nice to hang with the young set. I loved just sitting on your clean deck gassing with friends. It was just like the old days.
