Carroll and I went down in July to see Adam where he has been working with the Dept of Forestry on a summer internship. We did the Biltmore, which was fabulous, just like Carolyn said it would be and then we rafted the Nantahala River in our own little rented raft. Carroll and Adam had quite a command of the river. We saw GUIDED rafts on the rocks with people thrown out of the rafts! The first pic is us going INTO a huge Class III rapid and the second pic was glee that we were all still in the boat! I was going to walk the last rapid but when I saw how Carroll was able to guide the raft so well, I figured, why NOT!!
Kelly came to the beach this weekend for the first time in a year! It was restful and we just loved having her all to ourselves. Clint was in CA with his best man doing who knows what!!!! haha
We enjoy keeping up with the blog.

Whooo. That's mighty big water for that little raft! Carroll and you guys did a great job. Looks like he hit the rapid perfectly. The last time we did the New River everyone was flipping. We were the only raft in the group who did not. The water was rising so fast that we could not even stop for lunch. Our guide expressed to us that he was out of his comfort zone. We did not appreciate that at the time.
How fun! I LOVE RAFTING!!!
Glad you all had a blast on the river!
