Who's going to the Watermelon Park Festival?

This is a Bluegrass, Folk, and Old-Time music festival just east of Berryville, VA (north of Richmond). Dates are: Thursday - Saturday, September 18th -20th. Cost is low, for a 3-day festival ($50. prior to Aug 31st, $70. after that). On the banks of the Shenandoah River - so bring your rivah tubes and other water stuff!!!

Dan Tyminsi, who did the sound track for the movie "Oh, Brother" will be there (I argued w/ a dude here, at work, who swore George Clooney did his own music for that movie). Along with Crooked Still (one of Jim's and my favorites!) and a really unique group of 3 young Black kids, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, who do early Black folk music. (The woman in the group is absolutely gorgeous!) I first saw them last year at a workshop at MerleFest. They were explaining how they came about as a group, and how they want to preserve the old music of Afro Americans. We are seeing their name all over the place now.

Anyhow, Folks, if anyone wants to camp, listen to great music, and enjoy the Shenandoah River that weekend, join us.
