Today I went up to Midlothian to pick up a downhill set of skis/poles/boots I found on the internet for $40... yep, super deal, they are in excellent condition, only saw the slopes a couple of times. I can't wait to try them out!
Since I was up that way, Kathy met me and we went to lunch to this really cool place called Crab Louie's. I highly recommend the Seadfood Latke! The food was fantastic! Thanks Kathy! It was a really nice break before driving back home!

I'm glad everything went well and you had a fruitful trip! I can't wait to hit the downhill with you! What about this Saturday at Wintergreen? Think about it and let me know! I just got back from a great X-country ski up on the Highland Scenic Parkway in WV-Beautiful! I skied up to the "red lick" overlook and ran into my friend Rick Foster- the chef from Elk River touring center at the warming hut. He gave me some good recipes and we had a great ski back down! Had a blast! We'll have to get a group up to do that trek! when weather permits, it is fun and Rick's food at Elk River lodge is insanely good! Think about next weekend for some downhill and if anyone else wants to go???? You'all are welcome to crash at my messy place Love 'n'kisses!
Yes, what a fantastic surprise to get a call from Vickie saying she was on her way to Midlothian, VA! We met for lunch in between all my running around today at the famous Crab Louie's, and it was delicious as always. I got a fantastic deal today as well, but it's a surprise, can't tell yet! Shhhhhh!
LOL Kathy, I won't tell I promissed... What about some pictures from your trip Nate? Sounds like a beautiful place! I'm in for next Saturday! Got to try my new skis before we ran out of snow... I've heard Carol and Barry might be playing in one of the galleries at the First Friday next week? If they do, I don't want to miss it so I might be going up Friday afternoon If I can again crash somewhere in an Emrick flat ;)

Nathan, I wore my FOJ shirt to the Y for a butt busting exercise class, and Amy, a friend of Frankie's that we met at Middlesex came up and asked me what kind of trouble we had been in recently! I said, "other than trying to get off the WV mountains in the middle of white out conditions? nothing!" Haha
Carroll has not heard back yet whether they are playing or not.. someone spilled the beans...
We are on for the Memorial Day trip. YES, I will give up my four day w/e at my place at the beach because I want to hang with YOU GUYS. WE ROCK!!!

So glad to see you online too Regina! And I'm happy Crab Louie's has brought back good memories to you! As for sun and kayaking, for sure, it's coming... The FOJ Va Beach location is open any time. We were talking about it with Kathy, dolphins will be here in June! Plan on coming down to check them out.The VAB week-end will most likely not be in July this year since I'm going to visit my parents for 3 weeks but before or after, you guys can pick. :)

They have great beer and really tasty light fare, and it's in a really pretty setting. Y'all are welcome to crash at our place (same county--20 minutes away) if you like, or Jeni and I could meet you for drinks at the brewery...Just let us know. We have to work on the house during the day, so we can't go skiing, but we'd be happy to join up later!
Sounds good Hudson! I'm all about checking out new places and a nice beer after skiing sounds totally appropriate... How's the house coming along? You should post some pictures!
